Q. How long have you been a chiropractor , and what made you choose this career?
A. I have been a chiropractor for over 10 years now. I decided when I was 12 years old, playing Hockey. I ended up fracturing a bone in my mid-back. We had a family friend who was a chiropractor, and she helped me a lot. Ever since then I have been a chiropractic patient, and had a desire to be a chiropractor.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. The results. Seeing people in pain when they start treatment and following their body as it changes into a healthy, happy body is very fulfilling. When we educate patients to invest in their health for the long term, we see those patients stay healthy.
Q. Why is your field important?
A. Our nervous system controls every aspect of our body. If there is pressure on our nerves, our body cannot be at its best. Chiropractic finds and corrects these areas of pressure.
Q. What is something surprising about yourself?
A. I had the privilege of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro a few years ago. It was a great sense of accomplishment to stand on the highest point of Africa.
Q. What do you like to do outside of your work at the Toronto Wellness Centre?
A. I like to golf and play baseball. I love travelling, and experiencing the joys the world has to offer.
Q. What is something that you wish everyone knew about their health/wellness?
A. Health/wellness is achieved by turning more unhealthy habits into more healthy habits. It’s not grand life changing diets or exercise plans, instead it’s making better choices every day, all day. These small changes don’t even feel like work, and their benefits will accumulate.
